00:00:00: Hello, I'm your host Adam Brenner and welcome to the Evonik Minute.

00:00:04: Your quick bi-weekly podcast for all the important stories, news, and announcements for Evonik's North America region.

00:00:12: The date is November six, twenty twenty-five, and on today's episode, a lipid nanoparticle innovation workshop takes place in Cambridge.

00:00:20: Tipeke New Labs holds its annual safety days event and Evonik colleagues engage with students during Manufacturing Week.

00:00:27: Those stories and more coming up.

00:00:29: in just a minute.

00:00:40: First up, Ivonic hosted a lipid nanoparticle innovation workshop in collaboration with laboratory equipment maker, Naur, at Ivonic's Cambridge Innovation Satellite in Boston, Massachusetts.

00:00:51: The event drew a diverse group of fifty experts from academia, startups, and the pharmaceutical industry, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the greater Boston biotech ecosystem.

00:01:01: Lipid nanoparticles are nanoscale delivery vehicles made of lipid that encapsulate and protect therapeutic substances like messenger ribonucleic acid or mRNA to deliver them to targeted cells in the human body.

00:01:14: Ionic supplies pharmaceutical companies worldwide with these lipids as well as drug product development and manufacturing expertise.

00:01:21: During the workshop, participants engaged in discussions on topics such as AI tools for formulation and process scale-up challenges.

00:01:28: The event featured contributions from rena- institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, and Ethrus, a German biotechnology company.

00:01:38: This workshop not only showcased Ivonic's commitment to innovation, but also strengthened connections within the biotech community, as Andrea Angle, Senior Director and Head of Cell and Delivery Systems at Ivonic, explains.

00:01:50: I'm truly inspired by the collaborative nature of the Boston Biotech community.

00:01:54: Our recent LNP Innovation Workshop really showcased the spirit and was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect directly with potential customers and partners.

00:02:03: We received a lot of strong interest in our products with numerous sample requests for all lipids.

00:02:09: And by working closely together, we are not just fostering innovation, we are also building strong partnerships that will help us advance nucleic acid delivery solutions in the biotech space.

00:02:20: Next, Yvonnex-Tibbe Canoe Laboratories in Lafayette, Indiana recently hosted its annual Safety Days event, which focused on promoting safety and wellness in the workplace.

00:02:30: The event drew local dignitaries, including the mayor of Lafayette.

00:02:33: This year's theme, Wellness, Stronger Together We Flourish, emphasized best practices across various departments, highlighting the importance of physical, social, and mental well-being.

00:02:44: As site manager Todd Whetley shared with WLFI News

00:02:48: Yeah, so today is a day to

00:02:50: pause

00:02:51: and get everyone to think about safety.

00:02:52: Although safety is every day here at typical new labs and mental and physical wellness is something that's very key in everybody's lives.

00:02:59: So if we promote that here, they'll take that out to the community and promote that as well.

00:03:04: During the event, employees had the opportunity to receive flu shots and engage in discussions about mental health.

00:03:10: The day also featured a variety of safety-related activities, including a yard spotter rodeo that tested the skills of semi-tractor operators.

00:03:19: The Tippy Canoe Safety Days event underscores Ivonek's commitment to safety and well-being both at work and in the community, according to process safety engineer Miracle Agborgu who led the planning committee for the event.

00:03:31: Huge thanks to the team.

00:03:32: Everybody brought their A-game and showed the community what we are all about.

00:03:37: We are pushing for better safety awareness.

00:03:42: Lastly, October is Manufacturing Month and every year, Yvonnec's Tippy Canoe Labs sponsors programs designed to raise awareness about the manufacturing industry in the state.

00:03:52: This year, volunteers from Tippy Canoe participated in Manufacturing Week, an initiative organized by Greater Lafayette Commerce aimed at educating K-to-twelve students about career opportunities in manufacturing.

00:04:04: The event attracted over five hundred and fifty middle school students from local school districts through interactive demonstrations and hands-on experience.

00:04:11: And during the week, the Avonics team showcased their manufacturing processes through engaging activities, including chemistry demonstrations and pilot-scale equipment displays.

00:04:20: This initiative reflects Avonics' commitment to community engagement and fostering interests in manufacturing careers among young people in the Greater Lafayette area.

00:04:28: Brett Giltmeier, Senior Manufacturing Transformation Manager, emphasized the importance of this event.

00:04:35: Participating in Manufacturing Week has been an incredible experience for us at Avonok, allowing us to engage with local students and get them excited about the world of manufacturing.

00:04:44: The enthusiasm and curiosity that I saw during the hands-on demonstrations were truly inspiring, and we've received a lot of fantastic feedback from teachers and other organizers about how we brought the processes to life.

00:04:57: At Tipikudu Labs, we're very committed to continuing this tradition and sparking interest in science and technology among the next generation.

00:05:08: And that's the news.

00:05:09: I'm Adam Brunner.

00:05:10: Thank you for spending some time with us today on The

00:05:20: Ivanic Minute.
