00:00:00: Hello, I'm your host Adam Brunner and welcome to the Evonix Minute, your quick bi-weekly podcast for all the important stories, news, and announcements for Evonix North America region.
00:00:12: The date is November twentieth, twenty-twenty-five, and on today's episode, Evonix Saratoga Springs, New York facility plays a vital role in the semiconductor supply chain.
00:00:22: And the ETAD program proudly marks a milestone as it celebrates its third graduating class.
00:00:28: Those stories and more.
00:00:29: Coming up in just a minute.
00:00:40: First up Saratoga Springs helps make semiconductors possible.
00:00:45: Ivonic Saratoga Spring Facility in New York was highlighted in the Albany Business Review for the crucial role the site plays in the semiconductor supply chain by purifying hydrogen peroxide for chip makers.
00:00:57: Hydrogen peroxide arrives by rail from Bayport, Texas, and is processed at the Saratoga Springs facility, enhancing the material's purity to meet the stringent standards required for semiconductor manufacturing.
00:01:08: During the purification process, the chemical compound is refined to a level approximately one thousand times cleaner.
00:01:14: reaching parts per trillion purity, which is essential for cleaning silicone wafers at fabrication plants.
00:01:20: Beyond its technical capabilities, the site location is important for its proximity to customers in the Northeast U.S.
00:01:27: semiconductor market.
00:01:28: This facility not only demonstrates a Vonic commitment to high-quality chemical production, but also highlights the company's strategic positioning in the semiconductor market.
00:01:36: As Rebecca Ring, plant manager, explains.
00:01:39: Here at Saratoga Springs, we're really focused on achieving some of the highest purity levels in the industry.
00:01:44: We ensure that our hydrogen peroxide meets the strict cleanliness standards that semiconductor manufacturing demands, and we're proud to play a key role in the semiconductor ecosystem here in upstate New York.
00:01:54: It's exciting to work at the cutting edge of the technology to support our customers with top notch quality.
00:02:01: Lastly, we honor and welcome new engineering talent at Avonix.
00:02:05: Evonix Engineering Talent Acquisition and Development Program, or ETAD, recently celebrate its third class of five graduates, while welcoming a new class of four recent college graduates to the program.
00:02:16: Since its inception in twenty twenty-one, ETAD has been instrumental in shaping the early careers of engineers, providing them with hands-on experience and opportunities to contribute to various engineering projects.
00:02:29: The program emphasizes the development of future engineering talent through a structured three-year journey that combines broad training with focus development.
00:02:37: Kristen Ryan, the ETAD Year One group leader through the Next Generation Technologies Americas Unit, highlights its significance.
00:02:45: Our ETAD program helps cultivate future engineering talent at Ivonic.
00:02:49: Our most recent graduates have contributed significantly to our operations while enhancing their technical skills and applying engineering principles in real world scenarios.
00:02:59: They are the future of our industry and are essential to our talent pipeline.
00:03:04: During the program, participants immerse themselves in a Vonix culture, learn from experienced engineers, and tackle real-world challenges.
00:03:11: With targeted technical training and networking opportunities, the program nurtures well-rounded engineers and prepares them for roles of increasing responsibility.
00:03:19: Abby Lahiri, one of the newest participants, expressed his enthusiasm for the program.
00:03:24: What primarily drew me to the ETAD program was the opportunity to experience various aspects of process engineering to a structured three-year program.
00:03:32: that serves as a perfect transition into my professional career.
00:03:36: The chance to work on multiple interdisciplinary projects and collaborate closely with production sites around the country was also very appealing.
00:03:43: Finally, I was excited to join a team of young engineers with diverse ideas, skills, and experiences.
00:04:00: The initiative was led by EVET, the Employee Resource Group for Veterans, and reflects Ivonek's commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and supporting military employees and their families.
00:04:12: Ivonek's active oxygens in mainland Ontario sponsored meals for the nearby Prescott community through King's Kitchen, demonstrating their commitment to supporting those in need.
00:04:22: The volunteer group's dedication brought not only food, but also hope and solidarity, highlighting the positive impact of teamwork and community spirit.
00:04:30: And finally, The Mobile Alabama chapters of Equals in Aspire, Evonix Employee Resource Groups for LGBTQ Plus, and Asian American colleagues respectively, collaborated to host a STEM night for Prism United, a nonprofit organization supporting LGBTQ Plus youth, where teens learned about water quality through hands-on experiments.
00:04:50: This event, along with other initiatives, focused on inclusivity in hopes of inspiring the next generation of leaders in science and technology.
00:04:59: And that's the news.
00:05:01: I'm Adam Brunner.
