00:00:00: Hello, I'm your host Adam Brunner and welcome to the Avonix Minute.
00:00:04: You're a quick bi-weekly podcast for all of important stories news and announcements from Avonics North America region.
00:00:11: The date is July thirtieth twenty-twenty six And on today's episode our site in Michigan launches new innovations in silica.
00:00:19: We look at future with summer professional enrichment interns.
00:00:23: Those stories are more coming up In just one minute.
00:00:35: First stop driving innovation and excellence in Michigan.
00:00:39: Recently, Yvonnec's Westin site in Michigan achieved a major milestone with the successful launch of IDISIL KE-Twenty—the smallest nanoscale colloidal silica particle in its portfolio.
00:00:49: The new product further strengthens Yvonec leadership in advancing silica technologies and reinforces our commitment to supporting the semiconductor industry with cutting edge solutions.
00:00:58: Since beginning production, the Western site has made significant strides in expanding its offerings for chemical-mechanical planarization slurries which are critical for polishing wafer layers during microchip manufacturing.
00:01:10: With some modern microchips containing more than a hundred ultrafine layers The precision offered by collodosilica particles like itacylke-e-twenty is indispensable!
00:01:19: The new product as an average particle size of just twenty nanometers and approximately four thousand times thinner that human hair.
00:01:26: Kate Sokonvalian Global Head of Semiconductor Marketing credited the success to launch collective efforts for multiple teams across the site.
00:01:35: The successful start-up was made possible through seamless collaboration between production, quality engineering sales and marketing and R&D teams.
00:01:45: Their expertise on commitment ensured that new production process met Ivonic's rigorous standards.
00:01:55: This advancement creates as a result opportunities for growth in key markets and strengthens Ivonic's reputation, as a trusted partner in ultra-high purity colloidal silica solutions.
00:02:09: Lastly, Ivonic interns drive innovation across the US.
00:02:13: Ivonic is investing in future of chemical industry by supporting development of talented college students through our Summer Professional Enrichment or SPI internship program.
00:02:23: This year, twenty-seven interns contributed to meaningful projects at sixteen sites across the United States getting hands on experience while driving innovation and growth.
00:02:31: Here is Jeremy Carr a chemical engineering student at Lehigh University an intern at The Allentown Pennsylvania site.
00:02:38: reflecting on the program's value
00:02:40: In school, a lot of the questions they give you.
00:02:43: You have all information in one paragraph or text.
00:02:46: One thing I've really learned on this internship is that... ...you really need to go out and get that information yourself Like your not just going to be assigned problem And then given all the information you needed solve it.. ..You'll have talk with other people who might be experts at different fields To gain better sense what's the problem Is & What should we know to solve problems?
00:03:04: Since its launch in two thousand thirteen The speed program has hosted over three hundred interns serving as a feeder pool for Avonix rotational programs aimed at college graduates.
00:03:13: Over the course of twelve weeks, the interns also collaborate on projects that address key company initiatives including leveraging artificial intelligence for data integration studying hiring retention rates and improving document navigation at host sites.
00:03:26: this focus on collaboration resonated with Maya Morgan A chemical engineering student at Virginia Commonwealth University an intern at The Richmond Virginia site.
00:03:35: I think the one thing that really surprised me is how much collaboration that happens here at Evonic.
00:03:40: You know, i've sat in like customer calls and interacted with customers And also an active sales guy and interacted With the technical team leader.
00:03:48: just overall seeing How marketing in their current events In the world about how they affect Evonic?
00:03:54: It's been super interesting Just to see That crossover impact The products we make.
00:04:00: The speed program reflects Ivana's commitment to fostering a next generation of leaders in science, technology and engineering.
00:04:06: For Charlotte Burbage ,a chemical engineering student at Purdue University an intern at the Janesville Wisconsin site .The internship offered a chance to learn and grow in unexpected ways
00:04:16: on top of the collaboration.
00:04:17: but just how willing everyone here is able to like help and assist you?
00:04:20: Like they want you to learn They Want You To Be A Part Of Different Projects And I think with especially With Internship Program Is Not Being Afraid To Ask Those Questions.
00:04:30: a lot of the people that all honestly, all the people on my site they're all super willing to like answer those questions take time and really help you understand which has been amazing.
00:04:41: Recruitment for next year's speed program will begin in August with a focus on attracting students majoring in engineering and chemistry.
00:04:48: interested applicants can apply through The Yvonnek Career website And thats the news.
00:04:55: I'm Adam Brunner Thank You For Spending Some Time With Us Today On...The Yvonek Minute Leading beyond chemistry.
